Peculiar Plant Garden

Started in 2014, Peculiar Plant Garden stays in the north of the Flower Hall, covering an area of about 2.35 hectares. Warm rooms and cold rooms are arranged in the garden, exhibiting more than 200 species of wacky plants and providing them suitable ecological conditions.

A variety of interesting plants gather in the garden, including Coccothrinax crinita, one of the world's most endangered species in Arecaceae, Welwischia mirabilis, which has only two leaves in the whole 2,000 years of life, Cycas revoluta ‘Cristata’ with peculiar plant type, Bambusa lako in the unique color, the medicinal plant Cinnamomum verum, the Maitreya treeCeiba insignis with a belly as big as a ball, Ochroma lagopus with the lowest wood density in the world, Cananga odorata whose phenoxyethanol can be extracted, the most poisonous plant Antiaris toxicaria, Platycerium wallichii that has horn-shaped leaves, animal-eating plants such as Nepenthes, Sarracenia, and Drosera, Codoriocalyx motorius that dances at music, Synsepalum dulcificum that can change your taste, Aristolochia gigantea with ugly flowers, as well as Tillandsia that can be cultivated soil-free.
