The present premise of Rainforest World was formerly known as Ziyun Rock. It has been a deep and serene place with luxuriant grass and trees and serried rocks since ancient times. Wenchang Temple was built here in the Ming Dynasty, which betokened literary prosperity, fame and wealth. Although Wenchang Temple attracted a lot of pilgrims, the road was not easily accessible. It was not until the 13rd year of Jiaqing period in the Qing Dynasty that Zheng Guangyi blazed a trail here and engraved “Road on Purple Cloud” on the stone, not only praising the convenience of the road, but also exhorting students to study hard for scholarly honor or official rank. Nowadays, the ancient temple leaves no trace to find, but the stone carvings hidden by the secluded forest road to witness the change of the times.
