Origin and distribution: Hainan, Guangdong, Hunan, Guizhou and Yunnan
Morphological characteristics: Climbing shrub, branchlets densely rusty or grey pilose. Leaves opposite, membranous, elliptic or oblong, corolla yellow, berries ellipsoidal, sometimes subglobose, brown when dry, with small light brown spots, apical persistent calyx lobes closely appressed, fruit stalk hairy, flowering period: April-June, fruiting period: July to January.
Growth Habit: In valleys, streamsides and open scrub at 340 m, often climbing in the forest canopy
