Wisteria sinensis: Deciduous vine. Stems left-rotate, shoots densely pilose. Leaves odd-pinnate alternate. Racemes pendulous, flowers numerous; calyx campanulate; corolla purple, petals clawed at base; stamens 10, dichotomous.
Fruiting Period: May-August
Uses: A beautiful garden trellis plant, with early foliage and flowers, and purple spikes full of pendulous, sparse young leaves.
